Expo Hall Theater: An Architectural Roadmap for Resilient, Sustainable, Multi-sourced Production, Storage and Bi-directional Distribution of Power at the Grid Edge
Tuesday, February 13, 2024
3:00 PM – 3:25 PM ET
Location: Expo Hall, Training and Innovation Stage
This presentation will describe the so-called Grid of Grids" Architecture. It will include a description of distributed power system networking that predicts a hierarchical or layered structure of interconnected microgrids and traditional grids, where each grid represents a distinct and autonomous system for power generation-storage-use in a holonic or resource-sharing environment incorporating semi-autonomous balancing authority. It aims to speak to issues related to the technical viability and long-term economic sustainability of providing optimized renewable resource integration, resiliency, scalability, flexibility, and efficiency in both public and private power systems. The end-game: to do for electricity what the Internet did for information.
