Workshop: Solar & Storage NEC, Building and Fire Codes Workshop for NABCEP Credit (Additional Ticket Required)
Wednesday, February 14, 2024
1:00 PM – 5:00 PM ET
Location: 051, BCEC
Presented by: Sean White, White House Energy, HeatSpring
NABCEP: This course is approved for 4 NABCEP CE hours.
This year, Sean will cover the most exciting parts of the NEC and the ICC as related to Solar and Storage.
The NEC portion includes Articles 690 PV, 705 Interconnections and 706 Storage.
The ICC (International Code Council) will cover the IFC (International Fire Code), the IRC (International Residential Code), and the IBC (International Building Code). The ICC Codes tell us where we can put our Solar and Storage and is enforced by the AHJ. Note that a few states like Massachusetts, Florida, and West Virginia choose to be “different” and adopt the NFPA 1 Fire Code which we will discuss.
We will also talk about NFPA 855 “Standard for Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems” and its relevance as a non-adopted standard.
Massachusetts is the home of NFPA, so nothing like getting your information at the geographic source!
Some NABCEP certifications require 2 hours of building and fire code training and this workshop has you covered.
**Please note that as this workshop qualifies for NABCEP credit, your name and contact information will be shared with the provider of the workshop for credentialing purposes.
